Black Friday Pushchair & Stroller Deals

A pushchair is the piece of kit you will use most in the first years, so it is worth choosing carefully rather than simply picking the biggest reduction. Our Black Friday pushchair deals cover two quite different types, and knowing which one fits your day makes the choice much easier.

Everyday pushchairs are built for daily walks, school runs and shopping trips. They usually have larger wheels, fuller suspension, a roomy basket and a seat that reclines and can often face you or face the world. Many accept a carrycot or car seat later, so they can grow with your family. If you walk a lot, live somewhere with uneven pavements or want one pushchair to do most jobs, this is the type to compare first.

Compact and cabin-size strollers fold small and light, which suits car boots, buses, flats with stairs and holidays. They are ideal as a second pushchair or once your baby is sitting up well. When you compare Black Friday stroller deals, check the folded size, whether the fold is one-handed, the weight you will be lifting, the depth of the recline and the size of the basket. If you plan to fly, check cabin rules with your airline.

Black Friday Travel System Deals

A travel system is a pushchair chassis sold with matching parts, so you can move your baby from the car to the pushchair without taking them out of their seat. Black Friday travel system deals are popular with parents-to-be because one purchase covers the walk home from hospital and the drive there.

•             2-in-1 travel systems usually combine a chassis with a carrycot and a seat unit, or with a seat unit and an infant car seat.

•             3-in-1 travel systems typically include the chassis, a carrycot, a seat unit and an infant car seat. Some bundles also add an ISOFIX base, a footmuff, a raincover or a changing bag.

Bundle contents differ from model to model, so read each listing carefully. Check whether the car seat adaptors are included, whether an ISOFIX base comes in the box or is sold separately, and whether the car seat fits your vehicle. Before you buy, make sure the car seat carries the correct R129 label, which we explain in our buying checklist below.

If you would rather have a car seat that turns into a pushchair, the Doona is a popular option, and you will find it with our Black Friday car seat deals.

Black Friday Pram Deals: Prams, Carrycots & 3-in-1s

For a newborn, the most important feature is a flat, comfortable place to lie. Our Black Friday pram deals focus on prams, carrycots and 3-in-1 combinations that give your baby a lie-flat position from day one.

A pram or carrycot lets your baby lie fully flat and face you, which is reassuring on early walks. A pushchair with a lie-flat seat can do a similar job if the seat reclines completely and is marked as suitable from birth. RoSPA notes that non-reclining seats are not suitable for babies under six months, so if you are shopping before your baby arrives, check the age suitability on each listing and use the “from birth” filter on the grid.

When comparing pram deals, look at the carrycot’s mattress and ventilation, the hood size and how easily it lifts on and off the chassis. Shop our prams, 2-in-1s and 3-in-1s or add a separate carrycot to a compatible chassis from our carrycots range.

Black Friday Double Pushchair & Double Buggy Deals

If you're expecting twins or if you're welcoming a new baby while your toddler still relies on a pushchair, a double buggy is usually one of the biggest investments you'll make for a growing family, which is why so many parents hold out for late-autumn sales to make a purchase.

When picking a double model, you have two main setups to consider. On one hand, there is a tandem double pushchair where one child can sit behind the other. Because they're no wider than a standard single pushchair, navigating narrow doorways, shop aisles, and busy pavements is a breeze. On the other hand, there are side-by-side pushchairs which have a lovely setup for keeping siblings entertained and chatting.

Many tandems accept a carrycot or car seat in one or both positions, which suits a newborn and an older sibling. For twins, check that both seats recline flat or accept two carrycots. For older children, wagon strollers are another option worth a look.

You can also browse every model in our double pushchairs collection.

Pushchair Accessories on Offer

The right accessories make a pushchair far more practical through a British winter and beyond. Our Baby Friday range includes:

•             Footmuffs to keep your baby warm on cold walks. Check the size and the harness slots so the footmuff fits your seat unit and lets the five-point harness pass through properly.

•             Raincovers that keep the seat or carrycot dry while still letting air circulate. A cover made for your model usually fits best. See our raincovers.

•             Car seat adaptors that clip an infant car seat onto a chassis. Adaptors are specific to both the chassis and the car seat, so always check compatibility on the product page before you buy pushchair adaptors.

What to Check Before You Buy a Pushchair or Travel System Deal

A good deal is only a good deal if the pushchair is safe and right for your family. These checks are based on guidance from RoSPA, BSI, GOV.UK and CTSI.

1. Look for a safety standard. RoSPA advises looking for a reference to a safety standard, giving BS EN 1888-1:2018+A1:2022 or BS 7409:1996 as examples. According to BSI, BS EN 1888-1:2018 sets out safety requirements and test methods for pushchairs and prams that each carry a child of up to 15 kg, and it replaces BS EN 1888:2012.

2. Follow RoSPA’s basic checklist. Make sure the harness has five straps, test the brakes before first use and check that the pushchair is fully unfolded and locked before you put your baby in. RoSPA also advises against hanging bags on the handles, as this can make a pushchair unstable. Use the basket instead.

3. Check the car seat in a travel system. GOV.UK says only approved child car seats can be used in the UK. Height-based seats carry a label with a capital E in a circle and R129, while weight-based seats are labelled ECE R44. Height-based seats must be rear facing until your child is over 15 months old.

4. Take care with second-hand pushchairs. If you are comparing a deal with a pre-owned pushchair, RoSPA advises caution with second-hand products and recommends checking whether the model has been recalled.

5. Look at the “was” price. Under CTSI’s Business Companion guidance for traders, a “was” price should be a genuine price the product was recently sold at. It is a useful check on any deal you compare.
